Pillars or columns have been a fundamental element of architecture through all the civilizations that have past and still remain crucial to the structures that are built today. We barely seem to notice them even though they bear the weight of our ambitions on their heads. Symbolically signifying strength and structure, columns have never lost their power to evoke a sense of magnificence and royalty.

In this Clouds of Iris NFT, the columns seem to act as a window frame giving access to the viewers to a fantastical sight: a sky coloured with shades of indigo and mauve, filled with logos of cryptocurrencies that float like constellations. The viewer is given a unique perspective of the violet sky from inside an enclosed space which evokes a sense of restriction and freedom simultaneously. Are not pillars that separate the floor from the ceiling, the sky from the ground? The pillars fulfil their purpose as they appear to be holding up the sky itself. Drawing from the elements of the Beauty in DeFi series, the logos of cryptocurrencies float in the sky, displaying to the viewer the liberating potential of crypto which floats unabashedly in the clouds as if following an unheard celestial melody.
